OFF16 Main Competition Jury
John Kørner is born in Aarhus on February 9, 1967 and raised on Lolland, yet currently living in Copenhagen – artist John Kørner certainly knows his way around Denmark. He graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1998 and still works primarily with paintings, but ceramics and sculptures can also be found among the works of John Kørner. John Kørner is currently being represented by Victoria Miro Gallery in London, Gallery Bo Bjerggaard in Copenhagen, Christian Larsen in Stockholm and Patricia Low Gallery in Gstaad.
Danish director Roni Ezra was born in 1973 and graduated in 2008 from the directorial programme at Super16, an independent Danish film school run as an association of young filmmakers. His graduation film Panser (2008) was nominated for a Danish Robert, but years earlier, in 2006, he achieved international acclaim when the short film Helmer & son was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Short Film – Ezra wrote the screenplay for the film. Roni Ezra made his feature film debut with the American low-budget film Everything's Gonna Be Pink in 2012. His Danish feature film debut came in 2015 with the period drama 9. April.
JENNY LUND MADSEN
Jenny Lund Madsen is a Danish screenwriter working primarily in television. Her recent projects include Ludvig og Julemanden, Live fra Bremen and Rita. She is the creator and showrunner of Op Med Halen and is the main writer of the most recent season of Sjit Happens. In 2015, she made her feature film debut as a writer, and she is working on various film projects for Zentropa, Nordisk Film and SF Studios. She is a board member at The Danish Playwrights' and Screenwriters’ Guild and teaches screenwriting at the University of Southern Denmark.

Angie Driscoll is a rabid short film lover, music video freak, and champion of filmmakers! With over 14 years of film programming experience, she has selected films for a variety of festivals all over the world including the Toronto International Film Festival, the CFC's Worldwide Short Film Festival, Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, and Aspen Shortsfest. She has consulted for the Sundance Film Festival and curated for pioneering internet and mobile TV platform Babelgum. She is currently living the dream programming documentaries for Hot Docs in Toronto, shorts for Shortsfest in Aspen and Nordisk Panorama in Malmö, one-minute silent films for the Toronto Urban Film Festival, and Canadian music videos for the Prism Prize.
Marie Grahtø is an award-winning writer/director based in Copenhagen, Denmark. She is a twotime Danish Academy Award Robert nominee and was appointed ‘Director to watch’ in November 2013 by the four largest film magazines in the Nordic countries. She has travelled festivals around the world with her three short films Daimi, Yolo and Teenland while attending the independent Danish film school Super16. Festivals include IFFR Rotterdam International Film Festival, SXSW South by South West and OFF Odense International Film Festival in which she won three awards in 2012, two audience awards and the Artist Award. She is currently working on her first feature film, Teenage Jesus.
Thure Lindhardt Is a Danish actor born in 1974. He had an early role in Danish Oscar-winner Pelle the Conqueror in 1987, but got his first big break in Kaspar Rostrup’s A place Nearby in 2000, for which he was awarded Shooting Star at The Berlin Film Festival in 2000. Since then, he has starred in various theatre, film and television productions such as Hamlet (2004), Flame and Citron (2008), the Dan Brown adaptation Angels and Demons (2009) as well as Keep the Lights On (2012) and 3096 days (2013). Most recent works include the lead role in the acclaimed Danish/Swedish tv series The Bridge shooting its 4th season this fall. He just finished shooting the Netflix series The Last Kingdom.
OFF16 Animation Jury
Rikke Villadsen (born 1976) is a Danish cartoonist. She made her debut in 2009 with the cartoon Skægmanden i Varde, followed by Skægmanden i Skærsilden in 2010. Both were collaborations with Danish writer Jens Blendstrup. In 2011 Rikke Villadsen’s first graphic Novel Ind fra Havet was published, and in 2014 the second graphic novel Et knald til. Rikke Villadsen has since 2012 worked with writer Bjørn Rasmussen on the series 9 Girls. So far two out of the nine have been released: Liftet (2014) and Hesten (2015). On Tuesdays Rikke Villadsen serves as comic book editor at the small publishing house Basilisk. In 2015 she received a three-year grant from Statens Kunstråds Litteraturudvalg.
Jakob Stegelmann is an iconic figure on Danish television with his role as both editor and host of the legendary TV-programme on animation, adventure, gaming and popular culture, Troldspejlet. Many would also recognize him as the man behind the scenes of TV-shows like Så Er Der Tegnefilm and Disney Sjov. Jakob Stegelmann has written several books on the topic of animation and once started his own animation festival. He is a frequent guest at Odense International Film Festival since 1983.
David Adler is a film director working in animation as well as live action. He graduated from the Danish Film School in 2014 with the animated film No Man’s Land – winner of the ANIS Talent Award at OFF15. David's background as a painter and visual artist is apparent in the artistic style of his films which are often quite experimental, dramatic and challenging. He works towards a distorted and earthy feel of the otherwise very clean digital 3D animation with an attempt to incorporate abstraction and a horrifying touch. A few of David Adler’s current project are included an animated music video and a script for an animation film.
OFF16 Pitch me baby jury
CHRISTIAN GAMST MILLER-HARRIS
A screenwriting graduate from The National Film School in 2011, Christian has written the script for Anders Walter’s Oscar-winning short film Helium and Milad Alami’s OFF-winner MINI. He has written extensively for Danish and international children’s TV and cinema, and has recently contributed writing to prominent Danish television series’ such as Bedrag, season two.
Ulrich Breuning has been a prolific participant in the Danish film industry for more than 30 years. He was the president of the Danish Film Academy from 1995-2000 and has been consulting film adviser to Odense International Film Festival since 1979. He figures in the festival’s selection jury and each year instructs the Youth Jury.
JULIE BUDTZ SØRENSEN
Scriptwriter, graduated from The National Film of Denmark in 2015. Julie won Pitch Me Baby at OFF15 with her pitch Dinner with A and is currently working on realizing her short film project for M&M Productions. She also works at Antboy Animated, Nimbus Film, Radiodrama at DR and on feature film projects alongside directors Karoline Lyngbye and Ask Hasselbalch.
META LOUISE FOLDAGER SØRENSEN
Meta is an executive producer and CEO of Meta Film and SAM productions, and has more than 20 years of experience as producer on some of the biggest productions in Danish film and TV alongside directors such as Lars von Trier, Nikolaj Arcel, Per Fly and Pernille Fischer Christensen.
Steen Rasmussen is one half of the beloved Danish film & TV duo Wikke & Rasmussen, who have collaborated since 1983 on radio, television and feature films for children, adults and the young at heart.
